Preparation and filing to extend the IRS filing deadline by six (6) months. Please be aware that requesting an extension after the IRS deadline is not permissible, nor does the extension replace the official Form 990 filing requirement. Your organization still must submit the required Form 990 by the designated deadline or face penalties and fees from the IRS, which may include revocation of tax-exempt status.
An IRS 990 Extension is a required add-on for any 990 purchase within 60 days of the filing deadline. For example, organizations required to file a 990 on or before May 15 must purchase an extension on or after March 15.
Important Note: Extension orders placed within 15 days of the filing deadline are not guaranteed to be filed by the deadline. Extensions cannot be purchased after the deadline has passed. The client is responsible for any IRS-imposed fees or penalties.
